Damon Balcerak

As a Hyder Project Executive, Damon’s primary responsibility is in operations managing projects and their teams from concept design through closeout. He works closely with owners, designers, and our teams to ensure Hyder’s services and delivery is aligned with our client’s project objectives. Fostering successful project teams is one of Damon’s biggest strengths, and he is always willing to help others succeed.

Damon has always enjoyed the challenge of construction. He started in the industry the day he turned 16, following the offer of a family friend, “If Damon can drive, he can work for me as a laborer.” He continued to work construction throughout high school and college, before getting a job building cell phone tower infrastructure projects his senior year at the University of Montana. He liked the fast pace of these towers, sometimes building 140+ projects in 90 days. He traveled all over the country to build these and ran his own business doing residential remodels and renovations during the market’s volatile down times.

Eventually in 2005 he landed in commercial construction. He rose quickly through the ranks and wore many hats, including project engineer, estimator, superintendent, business development, marketing, project manager, and director. “I have been privileged to have opportunities in all areas of commercial construction…I like seeing other people succeed in the organization, that are on the team, or driving by something that looks awesome and saying we built that.”
